I can't believe you thought taking someones car 5 hours away and leaving it was the right thing to do. You put them in a bad predicament for your own personal needs. It’s not a glitch that it let you book that rental car. They deliberately over book to ensure they’re sold out and maximizing profits. I worked at a rental car call center and regularly had to take the brunt of customer frustration when they did this.

U.S. needs to build high speed train system to compete with the airlines. When the airline industry has no competition in long distance traveling, it slacks off on investments in operational infrastructures, I.e. booking and communication systems….. Just because this time it happened to southwest, it doesn’t mean that it won happen to other airlines.
