We got the below zero temps in Colorado 3 days earlier. It was 50 degrees and suddenly in 2 minutes the wind slammed us and within 3 minutes we dropped down 20 degrees or more. 1 hour later it was frozen. -31 and I was concerned about my furnace keeping up. Thankfully it did not, and thankfully we did not get too much snow and thankfully the electric remained on. And most of all I am glad I did not have wind or solar power as they do not work in this kind of weather. All the new electrify charging stations for cars were not working as it was too cold. It’s one thing to be used to winters and snow, another when the wind relentlessly keeps going for a few days and bring -31 and more windchills. Add feet of snow and it’s a disaster. I feel for all of them. But that added tax and price increase on gas is not helping anyone who is trying to keep warm in such weather and keeping their pipes from freezing.
