As average wage rises productivity per person improving capital labour substitution becomes economic which in turn raises average real wage. Covid has created a cyclical unemployment for low wage jobs in America as people run out of welfare payments & are forced back into economic activity for the minimum period before getting themselves made redundant again to claim. That wont change until there are house buying wages available to them & that wont happen until the US corrects the huge trade deficit capital drain & low human capital labour growth thats driving down capital labour ratio, productivity per person & average real wage. High welfare only works with closed borders to prevent new labour & high tariffs on non staples to prevent outsourcing of footloose productive jobs to lower average wage nations.
