To follow the rhetoric here at the conclusion. Why not have the reporter/anchor take a 50% pay decrease today. He'd still be earning way more than 90% of his fellow Americans and 99% of the world. Same true for the guest.
Somehow another person or corporation is greedy for wanting as much pay as they can get….but that never applies to you. You'd scream bloody murder if your pay is cut.
So if you work for Ford, and Ford profits are cut by 50% but so is the union contract…..that's suddenly unfair and unthinkable.
