This is wild. I hope they keep fighting it's hilarious
A sensible change to how they do things would that after a certain number of vote attempts the position of speaker goes to the person who has gotten the most votes during those pervious votes in this instance it would be the democrats house leader. Another sensible change would be that in order to keep the country functioning that until they elect the new speaker nothing changes & the house keeps doing its normal work with it’s previous members. As in the old members don’t step down until the new members are ready and able to step up. In this instance the democrats would keep their majority until the Republicans are at least pretend to be willing and able to govern. The reason I say pretend to govern is because let’s face it the moment the Republicans get control of the house their first priority will be not to do what’s good for the country but to ensure that nothing gets done in order to say how terrible the other side is at governing.

This is completely insane. It's amazing how all community issues weren't happening during the Trump Administration when the controlling GOP could have addressed these issues. Additionally, everyone there knew McCarthy didn't have the votes Summer 2022. A Plan B should have been in place. Without a sworn in House we can't pass anything. The world is watching including our enemies who could attack. At this point the sane Republicans can't exercise the 14th Amendment Section 3 to remove the Insurrectionist from their government jobs in the House of Representatives. The 20 holding up the vote until they get what they want in policies and positions on committees can do so until the cows come home or six Moderate Republicans vote for Hakeem Jefferies.
