I can imagine a fight for leadership with Democrats, as they are the much more diverse party, meaning harder to appease each group. But Republicans? They are all basically white Christians above 45. Homogeny was really a strength, easy to get everyone on the same page. So this fighting is about the GOP making the deal with the devil with the psychos of the world.

No surprise McCarthy already moved in ahead of vote jeopardizing he becoming Speaker. I guess he would argue who else has a chance? Amazingly, no one has come forward to go against him, for fear of classic Republican revenge against that person for hurting his feelings. They have to wait for him to admit he doesn't have a chance, and concede. Considering he will do anything, like kiss Trump's <fill in the body part> as we saw after insurrection, and he will give up power and do whatever it takes to be Speaker, so that is the real reason why he moved into the office. As usual, it isn't just the handful of Congressional leaders that have their face on TV, but the same sleazy members you expect that need to be on TV that are part of the Freedom Caucus. Circus is officially in town. They will "find" issues such as Biden's laptop (Hunter was never a member of the WH, unlike Kushner who receive mega money from Saudi's), and impeach DHS leader for border issues when they only approved half the money requested, and Title 42 that caused the continuing bottleneck at the border was a Trump function. But of course anyone's fault but theirs.

I'm hoping for the gridlock and disfunction. That's the reason our government was set up with different branches in the first place. To keep them from turning into the nightmarish behemoth that it is today. We don't need more government. We need to return to the federal government doing the only two jobs it was created for.
