Let’s put this in perspective. He buys Twitter with a 2b per year interest payment. He fires 75% of the work force and said he’s giving severance (doesn’t matter because the warm act requires it without notice) which was roughly 1.6 billion. He got 80% of his income from ads — which are no longer on the platform. Twitter was in the hole about 120 mil per year. It’s true he reduced expenses by about 75mil and Twitter blue makes about 30 mil/year which would make it -15mil/year had Twitter have the same income which it doesn’t. He has no idea what he’s doing!!!!!!!

He's spot on, twitter is clunky to use and there's two main reasons I don't use it that often. One, I don't like the maximum character feature making one have to follow it up with a tweet part 2 and 3+. Just let people say what their gonna say with as much space as they need. Two, I don't like how I can't read the comments in response to the tweets, a lot of times that's all I want to do because some responses are text gold. In fact I could live without number one of my complaints if they would open up the threads on every tweet so the comments were accessible. That's Just my nickel's worth of free advice nobody asked for.
Just wait and see. If anyone can guess exactly what billionaire will do then they can become billionaire themself.

Elon took it private so that he could sort everything out without worrying about share holders and the legal consequences. He does not need to set our expectations or be transparent. He is going to have a very hard time finding a replacement ceo that isn't going to bend the knee to the feds. Once twitter has been squeezed dry of all its dirty secrets and once the policies have been mostly ironed out he will let go and turn it over to someone. He is bleeding money right now and it is doubtful it can be truly profitable at the level of payback. This is going to be interesting to watch

Eric Hippeau isn't really qualified to speak on the issue since he hasn't truly followed what Musk is doing or says he wants to do at Twitter. He wants to turn it into a non-Chinese version of WeChat, an "everything app".
