I know someone who had a liver transplant. Heavy drinker. The guy in the bed beside him also heavy drinker waiting for a liver. Doctor talked to both of them of why they wanted to live and what they were willing to do to get better. The guy I know had a better story. He's alive . The other guy is dead.
As someone who is 30 that is dealing with the same issue, I find something like this would benefit me. Never crossed my mind that such a program exists, repeated hospital trips to be drained of ascites can only do so much.
Yet another reason why weed should be legalized entirely…. nobody has ever died from ingesting cannabis…. the highest you could ever get on weed is the equivalent of a blood alcohol level of .02…. less than half of being legally drunk…. I'm not saying alcohol should be illegal because that certainly wouldn't stop it, but there should be safer, less toxic ways to alter your state of consciousness…. over 400k Americans die every year from tobacco and have for several decades now…. if the war on drugs was really about your safety and health, then tobacco would be the first drug to be axed….

someone in my family passed away due to alcoholic liver disease at age 30. he was just about to turn his life around – and he was taken. alcoholism is so rough, on the patient and the family. stay safe, drink water, take care of yourself. live is short and the things you put in your body can make it even shorter, remember that.
