Passengers on an Amtrak auto train traveling from Washington, D.C., to Florida were stuck on the tracks for more than 20 hours and were unable to leave. NBC’s Valerie Castro spoke to one of the passengers trapped on board.

I learned a few years back to go ahead and get the sleeper car. It doesn’t have as many utilizing the restrooms and you can get food and snack and have them available in a private area to eat. I did these coach seats and experimented plenty.
Typical "gubberment" owned and run entity. Has it EVER made a profit? Will it EVER make a profit?? Would have been faster to walk…..
Well sorry people but when you take a train somewhere or an airplane or a boat on trips be prepared for the worst nothing's guaranteed. So quit your crying

Things happen. It wasn't Amtraks fault. Media makes it worse especially when you don't know the whole story. The Conductors and Engineers kept everyone safe, Great Job.
This is exactly what happens when companies take advantage of their workers. While CRO'S make millions and workers struggle to make ends meet.
Amtrak should have chartered buses to complete the trip.
I’ve taken the Amtrak train multiple times with no problems—one delay of a derailed train isn’t the end of the world; airline delays are even longer.
All they gotta do is put these ppl onto a bus at Amtrak expense to the next location where another train could take over, or get them to a plane. There should be laws on reimbursement and compensation based on the duration of Delay. It is a train, not a cruise where ppl can just continue to enjoy their day or be offered wifi to work.

With the weather and de-railment, what is to be expected?
People are starving on this planet, children sleeping out on the streets, in the harshest of weathers and Americans are mad because they had to sit in the safety of a train with ample power and food until the tracks were fixed

Okay, this is relatively rare on Amtrak.
No matter what, the train is a much better travel experience then flying. I love the positivity of the attendee. This guy is making a mistake with other travel. Rare for this to happen. Go AMTRACK!!!

Maybe train was high jacked by cyber terrorists? Amtrak paid millions in ransom to unlock the train? Just theorizing.
Kinda biased against Amtrak. The video makes it sound like it's Amtraks' fault instead of the derailment caused by the Cheapskate Railroad company.

Filthy people
In the aftermath of the pandemic people are very angry. That Amtrak employee was absolutely amazing in keeping them calm. But when an extreme circumstance like this happens you need to take care of those bathrooms!! It’s a federal law that railroad employees can’t work more than 12 hours in a day. If they do work 12 hours they must have a mandatory 10 hour rest period.

China is laughing at our rail network
I use to love to ride Amtrak. But after my last experience, riding home from burying my son, never again. You feel like a prisoner on the train. I’ll take greyhound from now on. At least greyhound has scheduled stops and they actually are reliable. Amtrak has too many delays that extend your trip. The staff on the Amtrak I was on were total b’s. I didn’t tell them what I was going thru. Amtrak has some serious issues and refuse to change.
They arguing with the Amtrak custodian like it’s his fault. Sit down and shut up people. Stop arguing with someone that doesn’t have any control of the situation. Typical of them.
