Sailor survives 24 days adrift in Caribbean Sea living off ketchup



A man spent nearly a month lost in the Caribbean Sea before being rescued by Colombian authorities nearly 1,000 miles away from his starting point. NBC’s Morgan Chesky has more on how the man survived living off of nothing more than a bottle of ketchup and seasonings.

Sounds like he doesn't have much of a clue… everyone around there knows the winds are always easterly around there so if the boat can be sailed (it sounds like it was, and the great thing about sailboats is that unlike motorboats even when damaged they can always be jury-rigged to make way) then heading south for the mainland is an easy no-brainer… motors have turned a lot of mariners into brainless boat drivers, not seamen.
