Biden's lawyers didn't shut down and call anyone else right away. They stayed there until they had muddied-up the evidence that could convict Biden, then they called the authorities. The documents were strewn around on the floor, according to some. No doubt they tried to mess up finger print evidence that could link Hunter Biden to access to the documents among other things.
