Jordan: ‘No amount of training is going to change what we saw in that video’

“These five individuals did not have any respect for life. … But I don’t know that there’s anything you can do to stop the kind of evil we saw in that video,” House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said about the police beating death of Tyre Nichols in an exclusive interview with Meet the Press.

  1. jordan, what about the scenes from jan 6? were you distressed?

  2. Attorney quote : “We have been dealing with racism and discrimination in America and across the world for hundreds of years. It’s not just the police coaching, it’s the justice system. You don’t see officers doing this to white citizens because our court system has said that they value white life more than any other life.”

  3. Attorney quote : “The reason why we see this happening to black and brown people is because it is the culture in this society that we can marginalize brown and black people…. that we can trample on their constitutional rights. It’s not equal justice for some, it should be equal justice for all.”

  4. quote by Memphis City Councilman : "it's the culture of policing that says that when you have a Black motorist, we can treat them any type of way. You know, we just have to change the culture of policing. We have to hold people accountable."

  5. quote by Memphis City Councilman : "We have to let the legacy of Mr. Nichols be that there is going to be police reform not only here in Memphis, but in this country."

  6. quote by Memphis City Councilman : "We have to let the legacy of Mr. Nichols be that there is going to be police reform not only here in Memphis, but in this country."

  7. quote by Memphis City Councilman : "You know, I give a lot of credit to DA Mulroy. I give credit to our Police Director because we addressed and we fired those officers. We fired them very swiftly. DA Mulroy brought the charges to these officers, so we have to address this."

  8. other quotes : "When we look at how these five black officers who were caught on camera, committing a crime, and when we look at how fast the police chief and the police department terminated them, and we look at how swiftly the district attorney bought charges against them in less than 20 days,"

  9. other quotes : "We want to proclaim that this is the blueprint going forward for anytime, any officers, whether they be black or white, will be held accountable. No longer can you tell us we got to wait six months to a year, even though we got a video with evidence of the excessive force in the crime. No more can you tell us that anymore because with these five black officers, you are moving swiftly."

  10. We now have a President that recognizes studies clearly show ‘b’ people make up a FAR smaller portion of the total population than ‘w’ people, but are still killed 3x as more than ‘w’ people. And although more ‘w’ people commit more crimes than ‘b’ people – more ‘b’ people are behind bars. go figure. Biden was the first President to speak in Tulsa OK, on the Race Massacre, and the first to sign a bill making Juneteenth a federal holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. Biden also delivered a MLK sermon at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.

  11. Yet again we get to look at Gym's cheap looking shirts with their ill fitting collars. No suit jacket ever on this jerk.

  12. I've heard a lot of talk
    Very little action
    The five killer cops are
    Out on bond
    There's no bond for tyre
    Or his mother
    She will grieve forever

  13. He is such a hack. And these hayseeds in Ohio still vote for this pile.

  14. The Republican in control of the House means more air time for idiots like Gym Jordan. Senate Majority Leader Schumer gets next to no air time (he concedes space to that Turtle Senator). I refuse to listen to Gymbo

  15. Jim Jordan turned his back and walked away on a bunch of young men being molested he could have stopped it and didn't he is the worst

  16. Do only those who believe in h*rming children vote for this 😡🤬er , Gym Jordan ?

  17. The rhetoric and the words used may change this…. Republicans take note change the rhetoric and the words. Train or not to train… JJ seems confused.

  18. Gym Jordan input.
    That's like the pot
    Calling the stove black.
Give him a box of rat
Poison and he will become dangerous.

  19. The rabid jackal, Gym Jordan is displaying in total lack of intelligence here or his total commitment to hypocrisy. It really doesn't matter which it is. It speaks to his unfitness as a lawmaker either way.

  20. Jim is already looking for a way to do nothing. All talk and no action on anything that needs to be addressed. Reminds me of his inaction of behalf of the Ohio Wrestlers. "Look the other way Jordan" should be his nick name. He would rather spend him time making useless political points then do constructive work.

  21. Jim is right. We cannot legislate or defund the police into oblivion. I do not know that stiffer penalties would even work with persons who have a demented hate or rage.

  22. You can’t train people to be empathetic or moral. They’re raised that way by their family and their community. Something this country has lost.

  23. Nazi NaziNazi NaziNazi….cops Black dudes beating to death a black dude screaming for HIS MOM….EVIL NAZI COPS!!!
