In every tragedy, there are silver linings. This silver lining puts the Defund Police ideal in perspective. It is the blatant violation of the citizen's freedoms by police officers that needs to be eliminated. Defunding the police doesn't mean cutting the money going to the police. The police need more funding to combat the systematic abuse of power by many police officers. The behavior that was visible in this horrific scene is only being practiced due to upper supervision condoning this behavior. These officers weren't doing this for the first time. This escalated to a point where the police were beating an unconscious man. If this behavior wasn't condoned by the Sargents and Commanders these police officers would not have done these horrendous acts as a group of officers, as all were participating. This is played out like this is standard procedure for these officers. I see them doing this to others in a way where they know when they can do this and do, and when there are too many people to witness and don't do it. The fact that this incident involved a number of Black officers is a plus for the situation. It is an example that it not just one race, gender, national origin is being targeted by police. It shows that it is the police ego and authoritarian attitude are what we are fighting against in defending the police. Good police are not a dime a dozen. We need to hire better officers and get old outdated Cheifs and Supervision that condone this behavior out of office or terminated. I respect the police and the authority I gave them as a citizen. They should never over step their authority.
The first step is so obvious. The cops need to stop screaming profanity at suspects. That's called self control in every other situation…. Think how easy this is to demonstrate! But everyone's going to overthink it and confuse the issue.

The Republican response to dealing with police brutality via local governments won't work. A unified response is required. The Republicans want Blacks in prison so they can provide slave labor and lose their voting rights (white supremacy raising its ugly head).
I am a black man from Detroit and I’ve seen this for years but I have to be honest with my community and anyone who wants to see reform in the police department. You don’t have what you need to get it. The one thing you need if you want to see were form in the police departments across the United States of America, our votes, you don’t have enough voters voting on a consistent basis. That’s why you see Democrats pushing for this on the left but when you get more towards the center not so much they’ll tell you it’s a travesty and we should do something but there’s no push when you get to the center of the political spectrum and then when you get to the right, they’re not going to push that. They’re not scared of you throwing them out of office. Look at Jim Jordan. The man literally said I don’t think there’s anything you can do with the federal level to stop this. Nothing he didn’t see anything the government could do. Guess what he or his Republican colleagues haven’t even examined this issue at the federal level no one sit down and actually asked is there anything we could do as officials in government not from the Republican side they don’t have to because they know voters in certain areas don’t show up so they don’t have to worry about not getting elected. Notice politics changed in Georgia. When minorities started to vote Republicans immediately had to make changes to laws down there to make it harder for them to vote. They immediately figured if we don’t do something we might lose the governors seat in Georgia. That should be a threat in any southern state where there is a high minority population, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, but in all of those states, there are significant populations of Black people who complain on a consistent basis about government yet we don’t vote.
The only way we’re going to get anything done in America is to elect someone who dwell do it for us. And anyone else who runs against them needs to be scared enough to know. Well that’s one issue we need to fix. Notice politicians don’t touch Social Security or Medicare. They talk about it they never touch it. Do you know why because that statement of the population of votes Politicians no don’t touch that if you do and you do the wrong thing you won’t end up without a job. If only we would vote. We know we have enough people out there look at what happened when Barack Obama first ran for president lines out the door, waiting for hours to hold, if we could produce those numbers on a regular basis at the voting booths or just with absentee ballots, you don’t even have to go stand in line anymore it’s easier than ever to vote in many places we just don’t do it. So I hate to say this to my community, which I love and grew up in if we want change, we have to go do it ourselves but protesting won’t get you anything voting will.
What this man do to deserve this brutality? Nothing?
It’s sad that even with this tragedy that the rest of the POS criminals that is causing havoc is blanketing the sympathy that people have for this man. I could honestly say that the AA community is a pretty petty part of society. Cause chaos, but want equality. The so-called community leaders? The community right? Not just the black community? It’s like their not even watching the news cast they are on. You got AA community robbing and stealing and killing, yet the wanna-be lmk pastor screams injustice for a fellow African man killed by cops.. Debt ceiling isn't the time to debate spending cut; when writing the upcoming budget is the time to debate spending cuts. The budget is Congress's responsibility.
They are right in pointing out the percentages. If there is to soon be a balancing of the debt verse revenue, the tax reform passed during Trumps Presidency will need to be replaced with some tax measures which hits those getting over $100,000.00 per year on average very hard, along with cooperate taxes. Members of Congress aren't going to do that because they are their donors would have to pay. All they will do is a lot of talk, and hurt those families getting less than $100,000.00 per year more and more, while nibbling around the edges of the budget. Then, they will rant about their accomplishments while blaming the other Party.

The last section of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment SPECIFICALLY applies to States and it SPECIFICALLY denies them the authority to deny "Equal Protection Under The Law".
