It Vietnam and Korea Medics were a lot of times the number one target. I know if a medic is taken out it's a real hardship for a troop or squadron.
I saw him in the documentary about those American volunteers fighting in Iraq against ISIS. Such a huge loss, what this man did for the people was undescribable!! All the best to his family and friends.
A true hero, Pete Reed voluntarily provided his care and service to others, knowing the risk to his own well-being. Having said this self care is important but a balance is needed. His legacy and others living with a similar vision and dedication greatly help to mitigate this extremely unhealthy self indulgent, narcisstic celebrity culture which is so prevalent in the US with it's negative effects on many vulnerable youth still developing their values and self esteem. There is pride, maturity and wisdom in being humble, and not overtly displaying wealth. All these actors paying a fortune for facelifts when many people lose their limbs in war torn countries trying to save lives. Ultimately holding the vision of peace globally.
