New Zealand police say they have recovered 3.2 tons of cocaine worth more than $320 million floating at sea, believed to be bound for Australia. No arrests have been made, but police said they had dealt a financial blow to the drug producers in what was the nation’s largest-ever drug seizure.

This is a common way of smuggling drugs in the Pacific region. Drug dealers would dump the drugs into the ocean with a tracker and the receiver would locate and recover the drugs.
