Well, in practical terms, it doesn't seem that that NOT immediately airing all national security & intelligence information on the EVENING NEWS is hardly a particularly sinister or outrageous thing.
…I mean, seriously, c'mon…
And to the extent that this has happened repeatedly, over several presidential adminstrations, would seem to diminish the credibility of those that would elevate this as an issue for next year's election cycle — the rhetoric seems a bit hollow.
…not to mention the long-established and ongoing practices of satellite surveillance, etc.
So, yes, discussing this with allied nations seems appropriate and productive. And to the extent that political pressure and accountability is served on a global scale, all the better.
But to "float" this out as the next "shiny object" to distract the uneducated from more real and present issues facing our country is a bit irresponsible…
… and, frankly, a bit insulting.
Let me be very clear… NO ONE CARES! NO ONE IN THE US ACTUALLY CARES IN ANY REAL WAY!!!
