Black churches are among the oldest institutions in the United States. They’re also living monuments to American history. Now, $4 million from the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund will be allocated to 35 Black churches across the country. NBC News’ Blayne Alexander visits Old Ship A.M.E. Zion Church to learn about its 171-year-long history and its hopeful future.

I had the privilege of attending a service at a 'Black church' (in the US) when I was younger, and I still get happy-goosebumps thinking about how you could just feel God's blessing flowing through the parishioners. Blessing to preserve these buildings for future generations❣️

We are building and restoring stupid buildings but we treat our oceans like toxic dumping grounds and they have turned into cesspools.
Our bodies are all falling apart because none of us have universal healthcare in this country.

Jesus Christ called people everywhere to repent, so if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe with all your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved and inherit the kingdom of heaven and eternal life. To this, people would accept Jesus Christ in life in their hearts and told other people how good he is, how he saves, heals and frees and gives eternal life for free 15

She asked why is it important to save black churches. It's important to save history no matter what it might be. Instead of tearing down history …. install new plaques pointing out the good and the bad about the person the place or thing. I think knowing more is better than knowing nothing.
