Also i am an aussie supporter and ricky ponting is not the best cricket analyst as he is neglecting the power of england. OVerall he is a great cricketer but is he a great coach. I dont think so. England don't have a strong batting line-up, Joe Root the only English batter who looks like he might be able to score hundreds against a high quality Aussie attack in their den.
Anderson and Broad have been around for a decade, and they will bowl well, but they just aren't the kind of bowlers who'll cause trouble to the likes of Warner, Smith and Marnus in Aussie conditions.
Idk maybe if Jofra Archer was 100% fit and playing, it might have made a difference possibly.
I always feel like lack of quality spinner is the ultimate limitation of this England test side, and it has been ever since Graeme Swann retired. If they had one or two quality spinners, they would play a lot better in Australia, India, pretty much everywhere else in the world.
