I've been following this since I woke up at 3am GMT. I used to live in New Zealand and this just hurts my heart. A body has washed up on a beach where I used to walk my dog. Bridges I used to drive over every day are gone. But Kiwis are amazing and they were out helping their neighbours right away. They are going to have a long week or so ahead without power.
