  2. Irresponsible perenting of gun totting idiots.

  3. That poor teen, can imagine the grief she's going through.

  4. Parents goes to jail i believe oh he is a cop does not matter JAil Time!!!! No

  5. 2nd amendment right to make you STUPID with a child life loss

    guns are for property protection

If you use a gun for any other purposes there will be a day you will regret it
This story about this child is the def EXAMPLE

  6. Very unfortunate. I personally would have a gun in the household for home defense, but I have a baby on the way, and I don't want something like this to happen.

  7. the father should be in jail for life. its absolutely insane that it was a law enforcement mis storing the firearm.

  8. WECOME 2 THE MAGA GOP AMERICAN THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN ANY NORMAL COUNTRY SO SAD

  9. What made a 3 year old leave the room and head for the parent's nightstand?
    I do not own guns.
But in my imagination regarding my children, I would address their curiosity right away.
Let them see it and hold it and then give the lecture. Bluntly.

  10. A loaded gun without a trigger lock in a nightstand and a glock on top of the refrigerator- it was only a matter of time before something terrible was going to happen in this family…

  11. Oh, he's a cop! No charges to be seen here folks..

  12. Unreal. This guy had several firearms just sitting around. Some people have no brains.

  13. Cool! That's what I love about Florida – they love their guns! What a bunch of losers!

  14. I'm not against the Second Amendment, but we need more accountability for the use, licensing, and ownership of firearms.

If we required every owner to have gun insurance for liability, injury, etc. and then outsourced to insurance companies to periodically check and inspect a gun owner's safe storage situation, I would not be against such a solution.

For those staunch unfettered 2A advocates, my proposal and other solutions regarding mitigating firearm harms to individuals and society is to make it as opt-in as possible, but such that financial incentive acts as an impetus to lawfully and more properly handle and operate guns. Making a law where gun owners are liable for damages isn't anti-2A. It's just responsible and just. Creating a system of insurance that would incentivize and properly cover financial liability seems like a no-brainer.

My idea is like how car insurance does not require you to be tracked by a GPS device, but that your insurance can be heavily discounted if you opt-in to be tracked and your driving is superb. It's a financial incentive to drive well. Completely voluntary.

An insurance company insuring gun owners might have an option where you opt-in to have periodic safe storage inspections, and that might be enough to mitigate a few tragedies. I do not see a downside. It's opt-in, but financially incentivized. It would allow professional risk assessment to offer tips and grade gun ownership in a meaningful and possibly educating way.

  15. All these lives ruined because of someone's carelessness……..that gun should have NEVER been in the night stand when children are in the home. ❤️☮️🙏

  16. I'm just glad that "father" was able to LEGALLY PURCHASE that firearm to protect his family.
    Aren't you?

  17. Unnecessary and carelessness.

Now a lifetime of pain for many and a child gone forever.

  18. This is one of many reasons why people shouldn't own guns.

    Or R.P.G.7 s !!!!!!!

  19. Some people don't deserve to have a 2nd amendment right.
