Why China wants to prolong the war? Because China owns shares in US defence industry. (Ignore that. It is a joke. Don't go and pick up your gun)
It is a know fact that America has been on a continuous war footing since WW-2. Surely such endless run of wars doesn't do much good for America other than helping its defence industry, and defence department. Those 750 foreign bases over the globes are expensive to maintain in terms of manning them, supplying them, and all the rest of it.
Is it any wonder that America keep raising the debt ceiling time and again. Defence/offence industry is expensive even in peacetime which is very rare, and very few in between. The conclusion of the Afghan war meant 20 years and $2.3 Trillions were written off. America has nothing to show for it. Now one would simply say "Oh…is it now over". But imagine what $2.3 Trillions and 20 years of lost opportunities and lost manpower.
Still, America never learns from past mistakes. Its never ending desire to be the #1 and to stay there has sucked much of America's resources away from productive activities such as revitalize its manufacturing sector. China's rise is no accident. Sure, the vast market opened to China has helped, but just because there is a vast market doesn't mean much if you can't manufacture good to fill those markets.
Take India for example. It has as big a population as China, and it is supposedly the largest democracy of the world. So the world is its oyster. The market is waiting for India to fill it up. But why not? So those detractors of China, and there is an endless stream of them, keep saying that
"…the west has done China a HUGE favour to open up its market to it. So China is now biting the very hand that feeds it…"
China already has its place in global prominence way before the west know how to count, China was THE BIGGEST trading nation in the glorious days of the Silk Road. So China's rise as a manufacturing power is no accident, and not because of the largess and sympathy of the west. Don't forget the "supply – demand" principle. The west has insatiable demands for affordable goods, and China answers that call. Look at it in any other way is but a face saving tactic of the west.
