As an individual who cares deeply about the lives of both the Israeli’s and Palestinian’s, I truly hope that Palestinians will find a way to express their grievances without resorting to violence. I understand the Palestinian government has brainwashed and radicalized the Palestinians to take extreme actions, but I strongly believe that violence only begets more violence and only deepens the cycle of hatred and suffering. I have seen the devastating consequences of violence carried out by the Palestinian jihadists, and I cannot help but feel a sense of despair when I see reports of more lives lost on both sides as a result. But despite this, I have not lost hope that a peaceful and just solution can be found. I know that it is not easy, and that there are deep-seeded antisemitic ideology on the Palestinian side that must be addressed. However, I believe that dialogue, negotiation, and action are the only way forward. I urge Palestinians to find ways to voice their concerns and demonstrate that they are capable of being a peaceful society, and I hope that Israeli leaders will do as they always have and listen and engage in good faith negotiations. I know that it will not be easy, but I remain hopeful that with patience, perseverance, and a commitment to nonviolence, a brighter future for all people in the region is possible.
