Sorry, guys, you can't compare a war in which 10 major European cities have been bombed and millions of civilians have been driven from their country to seek refuge all over the world to a one-off — significant — environmental disaster involving a single state, Ohio, and in fact not that different from multiple derailments and truck disasters that we've had in the past 20 years! It's an Infrastructure problem, that Biden actually is fixing, AND TRUMP MADE MUCH WORSE! Stop giving Trump free publicity and putting him on the same level as your President! Do you actually want another January 6th situation? This is why I stopped watching US media. You have lost your moral compass and your sense of proportion — again!
It is not the job of the president to engage in public relation visits but is the job of the president to ensure the people affected by tragedy are being served, We need to remember a presidential visit entails much more planning than dropping in at the neighbors for a cup of coffee. At a time when all resources are needed to respond to immediate needs such as evacuation, putting out fires engaging in remediation of the spills, etc. A grand standing President is not needed and in fact could be detrimental to the safety, welfare and security of the residents.
Trump just caused more problems for rescue operations,without mentioning how deregulation contributed if not caused this disaster.
Why don't you and other true news agencies point these differences out? The comparison is one deregulated the railroad, while the other sent all the help at it's disposal while continuing to perform the job we elected him to do.

The problem wasn't that Biden went to Ukraine/Poland. The problem was that Biden went to Ukraine/Poland BEFORE going to East Palestine.

I believe that 2 things should have (& still need to) be done:
1) publish exact chemical name(s), & accurate estimates of volumes, of chemicals spilled (onto what & where), amount burned & est re which chemicals were released into the air annnd where all are like going (in what chemical form) incl winds, precipitation and wash down with rains, ground seepage and ground water risks, and all bodies of water both flowing and stationary PLUS links to data sources including exposure symptoms per amount and route of exposure for humans and all other life forms, safe cleaning/removal, effective filters, how long the chemicals stay toxic under various conditions, Etc.,

2) Deliver pre-paid user-friendly test kits for residents to send air, land, water, edible plants, animal feed, Etc., samples to submit to designated labs that have been ramped up to accommodate rapid mass testing plus ability to make results available to residents (& authorities) stat!

Then, be ready to respond to results in order to continue prioritizing public health & environmental clean up.

If I lived there, I'd be freaking out about whether I should evac, since no reliable actual numbers have been released that can be independently validated by residents desperate for reassurance that all reasonable (for health, not money or reputations) safety measures have been instituted.
As a Democrat, I no longer support the war in Ukraine. We are sending way too much money, yet Americans are getting nothing.
