People make decisions based on emotion more than logic. You can hear the anger and emotion in the voices of those reporting on the Presidential candidates. The relationship between Trump and the Russian Government is a major concern. The absence of ethics in general in the Trump administration should be seen as a significant issue. It would be refreshing to see a truly good and qualified man or woman run for President.
After watching the embarrassing Speaker Election of the 218th Congress, I can say that the coming years are going to be rough. With the unabashed self-interest on display, the needs of the country are not foremost on the minds of our elected officials. If Abraham's prayer for Sodom in Genesis 18 were applied to the 218th Congress, the outcome would be uncertain. Partisan battles take time and effort. The victories are petty, shallow, and not to the benefit of our country. We are on the brink of several simultaneous global crises. Last-minute and temporary solutions tend to become permanent and detrimental. We need exceptional leaders now, more than ever. The time lost to partisanship will soon be sorely missed.
