Another great sports team they didn't mention is the USA men's basketball team. When the best US players are allowed to play in world cups and olympics, they tend to dominate to the extent that most teams just play for the silver and bronze medal, knowing they have no chance of taking out a full-strength American team.
Having watched a bit of rugby I can also say that the All Blacks are absolutely superb – one stat that stands out is that Australia hasn't beat New Zealand in a series in over 20 years (they play one series per year). The detractor from the All Blacks is that they tend to choke in World Cups. That to me is one of the reasons that this Aussie Women's team is so good. Going into every ICC tournament, there is an immense pressure to perform, and more often than not they deliver.
What separates the Australian Women's team from the pack in my opinion is the way that they have trailblazed and elevated the sport to a new level. If you look at the other dominant cricket teams in history – they have come and gone. This Australian team, however has revolutionized cricket and I believe that from here, their quality and the quality of their opposition will only increase.
