Don't buy any of these bikes don't use them they're expensive. Anything that uses the batteries are extremely dangerous not worth your life or others.

Incredible amounts of power. Oil, gas, coal, the old power. Modern batteries, the new power. Either way, this type of power must be contained to use. We'll figure it out safety, someday.

Bootleg e-bike shops have some responsibility to take. They need to be regulated for the MODDING they do to batteries and machines and chargers they sell people.

Update: The battery that caught fire was recently upcycled, so not a common EV battery. 174,000 gas vehicle fires per year in US, EV fires are 25 per year.

I guarantee the battery wasn't UL Rated, after market or black market crap. If you're not getting an LG, Samsung or Panasonic, cells you get what you pay for. Me, I run 2 LG 48v 17.5ah LG 3500 18650 cells connected in parallel with a datex 2 blender on my bike for the last 9 years. Bring them in my house to charge them with full confidence that they're not going to catch 🔥.

If you don't keep the E-Bike inside your home someone else will probably steal it, but if you do keep it inside your home, it might spontaneously combust and burn your house down? 🤷🏾♂️

This isn't the first time these batteries have caused a fire. Once a month, in the United States, a jetliner
