You went to the school, asked for a loan, signed the loan documents, now you want us tax payers to pay for your life decisions that your not happy about, REALLY

Education is a right. K-12 is already free. If you want extra, pay for it yourself. If you are unable to pay it back after you graduate that means you're the problem. You are either too lazy to work or what ever you studied in is useless. I worked 2 jobs during college and graduated with no debt. My son, back home this week because it's spring break, so that he can pick up every shift he can to help pay for his tuition while his friends are somewhere partying. You telling me now he has to pay the tuition for those that are currently partying in Cancun after my son graduates from College? If you can't find a job after you graduate, get a refund from the University that you attended, almost every single University out there have hundreds of millions of dollars in endowment, ivy league schools have billions. Get the school to pay for the tuition, not us, we are responsible adults here that pay our own debt. Owning a house is also a right, why not pay my mortgage?
Meh, this is not a solution even it might give momentary relief to a few, including myself, and in all likelihood will just make the problem even worse for the next generation attempting to attain such an education. Quite simply, it seems comparable to being diagnosed with a fatal disease, and then being given pills that will kill you faster but remove the pain for a single day.
It is bullcrap if I have to pay for someone else's college when I couldn't afford to go!! I knew I couldn't and so I didn't. These people make me sick!!! Grow up and pay your damn debts like the rest of us do!!
How would they loose money when they can collect the taxes from the individuals. If they tax the debt relief as income they would make up the losses.

Education is a right and we should make legislation to change it but for the debt that you have taken out on your own, you should pay yourself.
It's not about how much you make that makes you wealthy it's actually how much you invest.The best decision I ever made in my life was investing in the crypto market. Trust me guys, it really pays a lot! 😊
They would be illegally defrauding the taxpayer if they took our tax money and loaned it to people with the expectation of paying it back and then decided not to get our money back. They knew the risk and decided to get a loan to waste on useless college degrees. I say lock up everybody involved with giving our money away for free.
When we sent billion to foreign aid, no law challenges them but when debts forgiveness to US students then is becoming issue. Laugh out loud. Debt forgiveness will benefit many students. Fresh start.
What if they "compromise" and only forgive the 16 million that already applied? Should be all obviously but I'm thinking worse case

If I repaid 100% my student loans, are they going to reimburse me? What if I paid for my college straight up and worked my ass off to do so? Are they going to pay me back?
I know people who chose to work rather than go to college because of cost. Now, the government is making these poor people pay for expenses incurred by someone else. The problem with democrats is that they dont have any sense of right and wrong.

Crazy idea, how about only let the people who voted yes to pay off the debt in tax and those who voted no don't have to. Its a win win situation.
For the people who are against the whole Student Loan Forgiveness situation, look at it this way that I don't see this getting talked about: Other countries, especially in Europe, there colleges are basically free or have a very small amount of tuition but in turn, the citizens there have to pay higher taxes to the government. You hardly hear about the problems with there countries dealing with any kind of student loans probably because they don't have this problem over there, at all! This is a purely American made problem we created on our own! So to say and whine "why should I have to pay for that person's debt?" is your not seeing the big picture is that sometimes in life in order to fix this American Made only problem (and to do nothing to fix the problem, not one person can fix this own there own), is we probably SHOULD consider helping each other out for once in our lives instead of acting like assholes and not be willing to help your fellow citizens out despite the choices that they made so we can get ourselves out of this massive problem were in, which can totally be solvable if you stop acting so selfish! Maybe we should make Education an actual right for every citizen, then this won't be an issue anymore and all the debt won't even be an issue anymore at all, if we would be willing to accept that paying taxes can be a good thing and if your willing to accept helping your fellow citizens out!
We can totally set and cap loans at a certain amount and frankly loans should be paid back in 5 years or less (I would even propose a $4,000 debt limit for every student that graduates from any college, if the student say stays longer than 4 years, then the student would have to start taking out more loans but it wouldn't be a lot more but also the student would have to be pressured to graduate ASAP). All of this of course would have to be helped by the government to pay the colleges and the colleges need to drastically lower how much they are charging the government for loan amounts!

The Supreme Court have to decide that the student loan contract is in violation of the Constitution; because Congress took away the rights of students to file bankruptcy against their student loan; which is a right under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights!!💯 Therefore, the legislation is Unconstitutional and bankruptcy must be allowed for every type of loan under the Constitution!!🎊🎈🎉
