51:14 I've lived in Japan about half my adult life on and off; I suppose it's uncommon for an American, but I have friends and people I work with from all over the world, including China, Taiwan, Iran, Ukraine, Russia, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Vietnam. Except for one friend from Israel, we all love to talk politics, but we don't argue about politics. I think the key reason for that is, we aren't politicians or journalists. The one guy from Israel, it's more about his people and religion, so it's somewhat understandable that he should be such a jerk about it in mixed company, but no one is asking for weapons or arguing with me about the one China policy–though that one does come up once in a while.
I lived in Queens for a decade; it's the most ethnically and linguistically diverse place on Earth, but we don't fight about these issues there either.
So I don't find it at all surprising that astronauts from countries in conflict work together with no political problems. I don't think that has anything to do with putting the mission above politics. That's just humans being human.
It's not just the loss of business or products/animals due to the contamination and outside perceptions of that contamination, but disabled and special needs adults and children in East Palestine can't get home healthcare. People can't get deliveries of essential items or repairs like mattresses or their stove fixed because no one wants to be exposed. That's just acute needs not future needs that aren't being addressed. Norfolk southern absolutely needs to actually "make things right" not throw just $1,000 at them, tell them they can't get any more help than that and open up a family resource center that they and the governor claimed was a medical center but doesn't test or treat the medical issues their catastrophic and moral failure brought to every home in all of the affected areas. Make no mistake though, there's blame all around with failure after failure from all there to "make things right".
