For example, you knew how to strike the right balance of attention between Sir (former Ambassador) Michael McFaul and his reasoning of intelligence on Ukrainian affairs regarding Russia, and, on the other side, giving credence to the shared – but opposite – approach to what should happen to Russia as represened by Retired Admiral James Stavridis's World War II perspective.
(The Ambassador in me believes that the approach of Retired Admiral James Stavridis – as stated at 11:10 – seemed unreasonable as striking out at a tense situation is not considered for these reasons:
(1) it is not insightful,
(2) it demonstrates a position which could escalated matters if treated brashly, and
(3) it may lead to World War III.
Please keep in mind that this is not the Cuban missile crisis and applying a 20th century thought process to a very real 21st century crisis is simply not the way to handle these affairs
(though I do recognize the Admiral's desire to fight – and that is what the soldier in me would also desire – but any, simple side comment can lead to dire circumstances when what is needed is a diplomacy that can otherwise 'win the day'.
