So the FDIC gets it's money for these bailouts from the fees we all pay for various transactions.
The depositors in these banks that went under DID NOT have to pay fees and were NOT FDIC insured.
We used the money gathered from FDIC fees paid in by those of that were FDIC insured to FULLY cover those that were NOT FDIC insured.
I have a problem with this.
Someone explain to me how Capitalists get this protection when they CHOSE not to be protected?
Saying "I didn't know" is not a valid excuse, and strains credibility.
At best they should have been paid 25 cents on the dollar or some fraction below 50 cents on the dollar.
The rest of us that have been paying these fees will no see an increase to make up the difference for uninsured depositors.
