  1. Muddy Waters is from Rolling Fork

  2. The locations I've lived (Ohio and Georgia) NO meteorologist mentions to drive to a nearby shelter when forecasting severe weather. They always say to get to the lowest level of their homes. With that being said, I find it really hard to believe that the town was told to go to their nearest shelter. I never heard of such option on my local TV or radio! πŸ˜žπŸ˜žπŸ˜žπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

  3. Replace all JROTC programs with Fire dpartment and First Responder programs…Its what we need more of

  4. And watching Ryan Hall (who's followed by many EMS and similar services), there was far less warning than that. His team aren't constrained by crying "Wolf!", protocols, the second they see something concrete, they give voice, on the basis it's better to be safe than sorry. Rolling Fork was just after it touched down, and the chasers were handicapped by rain. They had maybe ten minutes warning.
Another comment many hurricane watchers have made about the South is that the building codes aren't fit for purpose. When the Wolf does start huffing and puffing, you need better than sticks (timber construction), look at Rolling Fork and it's the well-built brick which survive. Not those with an unbraced wall, or breezeblock, but those interlocked with other walls as buttresses. They still lose the roof, but if you pour concrete it'll likely stand. Just keep the wind from getting under it.
A third observation is, what happened to the old storm cellars clear of buildings collapsing on them?

  5. It's so problematic because of Mississippi being majority of poor black people with little to no resources from a town with only 10 stores 7 are probably family owned small business . Nobody in that area makes what the average American makes in other states. How the FUCC are they supposed to get up and go.

  6. Praying πŸ™ for everyone impacted by this horrible Tornado πŸŒͺ storm ❀

  7. Questionable houses/ constructions. Old houses etc . Obviously this must be improved next to the alertness.
It’s impressive I wish the best for those that are struggling in the aftermath.
