OMG! That is frightening. So sad for the life that was lost.
Well, it's a Blue State turning Red, and you know, Red States don't believe in gov't. No gov't no building codes, no building inspections, no unsafe conditions, no gov't officials anywhere to say anything about anything. At best your tax bucks pay whatever GOP donator can get the 'contract' to do as little as possible and have no responsibility to anyone for say, letting a building collapse while they are 'in charge'. Michigan has some of the most restrictive voting laws and more are piled on every election as despite this, the spread between parties gets smaller and smaller. One of the worst laws. It's illegal for any locality to take donations to run elections, when the state refuses to give that locality any money to run the election, well, enough to open more than one polling place 8 hrs, until they change even that rule. Another fav, they require military to vote electronically using their ID card even though military says they will not support it, probably cause ya know, not every Bradley tooling around the landscape getting shot at has a computer on board that can be used for VOTING, nor every FOB, FB, supply depot, maint shop, ship etc in some 3rd world crap hole w no electricity or internet, or some wilderness base in the artic….. I just can't imagine taking the vote away from soldiers and GOP still saying THEY are the party that supports our soldiers.
How awful. My condolences to everyone affected by this situation. I hope they all have the support they need.

WOW a roof collapse gets more attention from NBC than all of the kids being murdered on the street everyday in Illinois. The roof is more important to NBC than your life. Wake up democrats.
Not the first time a building collapses, the houses that have been around that are made of bricks aren't always held to code. The city is just going to continue to collapse and let the poor lose their only homes because they can't afford to move or leave the state for a better housing situation.

They had a heavy metal concert going on at the time of the hit. Think there may have been one death there. Not sure.
We had multiple tornadoes here last night (22?) with multiple super cells. Huge old trees are down. Debris everywhere. Missing roofs. A friend’s subdivision looks like a war zone.
Have never heard so many back-to-back weather alerts in my life. Kept repeating “tornado warning” which evtl became “tornado on the ground”. And the “tornado warning” SITES kept getting added to. They literally couldn’t come fast enough.
Daytime was strange — oddly and unexpectedly muggy. Think temp got to around 70°? Then SNOW was forecast for nighttime ……
Would like to thank the National Weather Service and local news. They had been warning for days about “violent” weather. Gave us time to prepare our shelters and ourselves. We were hunkered down and as ready as we could be.
Think that is why the death and injury toll might be so much lower than what happened to Mississippi.
Already receiving warnings Tuesday may be a repeat performance.
