Britain’s King Charles III greeted Prime Minister Liz Truss with the words “dear, oh dear,” as they met for an audience at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. Earlier, Truss had been forced into defending her tax-cutting policy during questioning in Parliament.

Look I'm conservative too. US style even. But I got mad when the Republicans tried that crap too. If your going to cut taxes you also have to cut services to pay for them. If your running up deficits your no better then the left. They always forget that the vast majority of conservatives are not rich. So we don't care about taxes for people above our income level. We don't want people taking too much from the national coffers because we are principled. Not cause we are greedy.

She's trying to boost UK's stock market like Trump's tax cuts. Unfortunately, back during Trump's tax cut, there was no inflation problem. By doing tax cuts now, you'd exacerbate inflation and force the Bank of England to hike rates more aggressively. Interest rates act like gravity. The higher it is, the stronger the pull downward to prices of bonds and stocks. But since UK's rates is also lagging behind US rates, the pound took a hit.
