Sanju samson has an average of 66 and strike rate of 104 in ODI. Almost every match he played at 5 or 6. And this guy is saying he can't bat in the middle order.
The excuses for not selecting him keep changing every season actually.
They said Sanju is not X factor player.
He showed he is the best six hitter around.
Then They said he is not consistent.
He gets these critical 150% strike rate scores almost every game.
Then they said he is one dimensional, keeping skills are not good enough.
He showed why he is a much better keeper and fielder than KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan
Then they said he cannot bowl like Hooda.
Then they said he is not left handed like Ishan Kishan.
Now they want to see 'temperament' from him in T20 format? They want to see Sanju Samson play those selfish 65(60) innings like KL Rahul does.
With this kind of selection mindset, the Indian team will always be comprised of 'Safe shot only', selfish players.
And, they are saying this about a guy who has got 36 50+ scores and 3 IPL centuries in T20s. Remember that he rarely gets to play any powerplay deliveries either.
I bet even if he was a fast bowling all rounder with these batting skills, they would've dropped him saying he 'should've been a left arm seamer'.
