That's some big words, coming from a politician in a country where more and more rights get restricted.
The first time I was threatened with a gun I was 6 or 7. They laughed at me. The laughing people were blood relatives. I came from SoCal, and the texas people treated me like a joke. I have always been afraid of them, and they keep laughing—blood relatives. They talk a good game, about family, but they only love you if you are like them.
What freedoms do you have that other countries don't?
The entire EU has freedoms
Canada, Australia and New Zealand have freedoms
Japan, South Korea and Taiwan have freedoms
But our freedoms aren't slaughtering our kids and citizens because we have common sense.
What does he think freedom is?
I'm free to live my life without fear of me or my kids being shot.
Dude, when you have that freedom, you won't want nor need a gun.
The images need to stop being blurred. If we can handle guns for everybody all day every day, then we should be able to handle the images. If we can't handle the results of guns for anybody anytime, then maybe we'll come up with some good gun safety laws. It's not protecting anyone's dignity from hiding the truth. It's only allowing us to hide from the truth, perpetuating our ignorance, and guaranteeing more blurred images of more dead and injured people blasted to pieces by guns.
Republican politicians are dam slow to get right with reality.
I’m a Canadian, the only guns I have ever even seen in real life are service weapons (i.e. in a police man’s holster). Glad to I live in a country where life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are valued.

The funny thing is, you've probably had a gun pointed at you by one of your neighbors and you'd never know about it until you get shot one day for leaving your radio up in the car when you forgot your lunch or something. Somebody didn't follow the "right-turn only" sign for an intersection, and pointed a pistol at our car thinking we cut him off. It's a wild, lawless free-for-all.
Including paint ball guns, nerf guns, squirt guns and laser guns.

Life is cheap in the United States. Not only can you buy yourself a politician but if that's not enough to impress your friends you can buy yourself a Supreme Court Justice. With abortion being outlawed in most states, we'll have plenty more "little targets" in the near future.
Every single gun death is because of a failure to legislate. If you can't convince your "Republican Colleagues" to see that all this death is insane, then resign and we'll put somebody in that can because it's not a tough argument to win which says you have a vested interest in keeping the status quo. Fix this or step aside.
The only solution the Republicans have for gun violence is more high-powered guns on the streets.
There will come a time when people will be walking in bullet-proof armors, as the government does not want to do anything about it.

One thing that is deeply flawed about America that both side of the gun debate can get behind is a threat with a gun should be an open and shut crime. If proven, it should mean time away from society and all that a criminal record entails. "Tough on crime" is a lip service from both parties, put more people who think a gun is a tool to solve a problem in jail. Severity of crime these gun threatening folks deserve more hard time than anyone that did a non violent crime. When ever you act with a gun NOT in defense as intended that should be the end of your freedom. Give people the freedom but give them pause not to misuse it.
Outside of gang violence and suicides, how likely are you to die in a vehicle crash vs a “gun crime” the answer is telling about what people fear and what that means. People are only scared because their handlers want them to be.

Back in the 80s in rural MO somebody was taking shots at me and buddy. We were only 12 or so and the bullets were zinging past our ears. I had a hunter pull his gun on me while hiking, I have no clue why he was hunting on a trail. I've also had a couple friends end their lives by a gun and my cousin's daughter was shot in the head a couple years back. I've known numerous people who have been held up and threatened by individuals with guns. And that's just what I remember off the top of my head. America…
My Dad, Uncle, and Nephew have all killed themselves using a gun and my Aunt tried to using a gun and permanently injured herself with it…
