We can not totally leave fossil fuels for quite some time. Unrealistic to think about going total electric now. The tech is not there yet. Check out what it takes to make those vehicles. Uneducated idiots, Tesla does buy batteries from China however Tesla manufactures batteries for EV's in the US and is building more battery and EV factories in the US. They also have a large plant in Lathrop CA that produces Battery mega packs which fit on and transported by semi trucks for large industry use. While China is the largest supplier of solar panels in the world there are a few US factories that produce solar panels.
Tesla is a US and a worldwide EV maker they lead the charge in the making of EV's.
Having said this I am opposed to the government making people buy EV's the market should control the demand not the government. The grid in many states may be able to handle the power demand for EV's but many parts of California will have to improve the grid to make sure the power needed will be met.
The weight of the car you better buy $1000 of new tires every year. Repair cost is out rages. Lawyers gonna have a fun with this one. Because of the Weight of the car smashing into you you getting screwed all the way around
