  1. I grew up in Southern California, so Mexican food has always been a part of my life. No one in my family is Mexican. My mom is from Germany and my dad is American, but we get tamales every year during the holidays since I was 8. We would buy homemade tamales from my classmate's mom, I eat Mexican food at least once a week

  2. I like how rich mexican food is… It has so many variants and the variety of ingredients is amazing. You can have a pretty nutritious healthy diet with mexican food or very oily but delicious… I have even tried Mexican sushi 👀

  3. No insult to Italian food but i don't see Italian food over Mexican food. Spaghetti or tacos?

  4. As a millennial, Mexican and food lover. This is accurate .

  5. All White People have is the Cheeseburger and Hotdog 😂

  6. This makes sense. I mean most Italian food you eat in America is not real Italian food..

  7. What did I just watch? Why was this produced?

  8. this ain't mexican food …this is american versions of mexican inspired snacks

  9. Gen Z's and Millennials don't know anything about good food. When they think of Mexican food all they think about is tacos and chips. There's more to the culture's cuisine then just these 2. Went to a Mexican restaurant with my friends a couple weeks and it was packed like crazy. The menu was average. Nothing fancy. Our waiter came and also prepared us some chips and guacamole dip for us. Told her in Spanish, "These people don't know anything about good food, right? This is average for us." She laughs, "Thats right and we making money."

  10. Well of course they do, everytime they eat Mexica Food, they are tasting TENS OF THOUSANDS of years of culinary heritage only found here in this land.

  11. Thitls "Population Estimate" is way off. White people are down in the 55% bracket. And Latinos are in the 30% bracket.

  12. they really interviewed a super white guy who owns a mexican restaurant for this piece? lol a josh lebowitz for a segment on mexican food lol

  13. Most "Italian" food found in the U.S. isn't recognizable to the average Italian. It's a hybrid of the original dishes. Most "Italian" food found in the U.S. is based on southern Italian food which Italians in the north of the country would say isn't Italian. Mexican food in the U.S. is similarly hybridized but receives constant infusions from south of the border. That said, the average American that "loves" Mexican food has only sampled five-percent of real Mexican food.

  14. For health conscious consumers, mexican food can be scaled/personalized relatively easily to fit an individual's diet. Number of tacos to reduce overall calorie, salsa is much healthier compared to ketchup because traditionally it doesn't contain sugar.
American chinese food is a whole serving, where the entree consists of fried meat with really sweet sauces. American italian food is carb and sauce heavy with predetermined serving size.

  15. It's also the price, if you have $10, your getting 3 tacos, a drink, and couple chips with salsa. It is no secret the younger generation is making much less money than their older counterparts.

  16. Mexican food is easier to handle on the go. You don't see many pasta food trucks

  17. How could you not love Mexican food?

  18. I would say that Mexican food is more popular these days because it’s relatively healthier and cheaper than most other types of cuisine. Plus, it offers a variety of flavors ranging from spicy to sweet, spicy being the more popular of the two. Not to mention that because some of the ingredients are always familiar to Americans, cooking isn’t considered much of a chore compared to making Chinese food, in which you really have to know your brands. This is of course coming from a millennial herself. 😉

  19. One has flavor the other is bland

  20. yawp that's true af for me.

  21. But please call it guacamole not guac!! Respect the culture !!!

  22. As Mexican, I don't try to sound coky, but Mexican food is the best in the world for many reasons: tasty, a large number of options and variety (it's not only tacos and guacamole), it's mostly easy to make (just for a few exeptions), easy to find the ingredients (in exeption for some chillies), mostly you can eat it on street (no table needed), it's not square (you can use your creativity for many of the dishes) and is cheap, what more you ask for??? Pizza is cheap??? C'mon, it's cheaper and faster to make a bunch of tacos…

  23. Plus this is the Americas not Europe it should be no surprise. Also tomatoes are Mexican not European

  24. Lol. Potato chips are Mex.

  25. Most of the “Italians” joint I’ve been to are Boujee with non Italian speaking Albanians. Trying to peddle cheap wine.

  26. As a Peruvian with one of the best gastronomy of the world together with the Mexican and Italian. I can admit that Mexico has good dishes. 👍🏻🇵🇪🇮🇹🇲🇽

  27. As a Gen X, I used to eat Italian food growing up in the 80s and 90s. Since I went GF, mexican offers me a better option (corn tortillas) and is most authentic for my liking with little to no modifications required.

  28. There is a lot of diversity in Mexican food. You can go for a more heavier dish or a lighter dish. From enchiladas to ceviche there is something for everyone.

  29. Define Mexican “food” because tacos, burritos and nachos aren’t “Mexican food”
    Not even close.

  30. What I find most interesting is that each generation apparently likes Italian and Chinese food less than the previous generation, with only Mexican food having a relatively consistent standing (although Gen Z likes Mexican food less than Gen X and Gen Y).

  31. Mexican food blows up, Mexican regionsl music took #1 most played on Spotify, and #3, Mexico didn't get affected by inflation, they're building a high speed railway, building a plant to turn salt water to drinking water. Mexico is about to be a power house, no doubt within the next 10 years.

  32. Aquí en mi país le decimos “comida”

  33. This is evident.
The old cohort tend to vote for any president whom happens to be racist and anti-Mexicanetic. Gen Z and Milennials recogonize that WE are not bad as the Republicans claim.
    🇲🇽🇷🇺

  34. Not really. I just can't find good Italian food. And if I do it tastes bad. Where areas lots of Mexican food even taco bell taste good. Never really find a bad taco but I always find bad Italian food. Honestly I can only think of one place that had decent Italian food

  35. It's harder to get good italian, as opposed to finding acceptable mexican food

  36. i hate onions in all forms what mexican food has no onions? I did eat food in Mexico city on a trip loved the food but hate onions.

  37. Couldn't have anything to do with cost and ease of access (way more shops, carts and fine dining for "Mexican" food) and then there is the fact that a lot of what is considered to be "Mexican" food isn't even eaten in their country and just Americanized 🙄

  38. Well, I was born in 93 I’m a millennial, but I can tell you that I would never choose Mexican food over Italian food

  39. Mole enchiladas paired with a grande horchata is good anytime for me

  40. Unpopular opinion, Mexican food is overrated .

  41. Mexican food is trash, the only "mexican" food I like is taco bell

  42. TexMex is way better than Mexican food!! Real Mexican food is kind of bland. TexMex uses more spices, red & green peppers, salt/pepper. Fajitas and such are TexMex

  43. Anyone with a refined taste prefers Mexican food over any other.
