It's the smokers line got rid of smoking and our economy suffered the loss of tobacco profit and makes us equally as unhealthy

Every American has a capitalist mindset from indoctrination from public schools simple "friends"cannot exist when we're trained from birth to always look for a way to capitalize on every interaction in life.

Loneliness is the least of our societies problems.lets focus on one problem at a time maybe we could solve one of them.I personally think greed is our biggest issue and by far more deadlier than smoking.Greed is enemy #1 but your not going to here that word coming out of a politicians,CEO or surgeon generals mouth .they would most likely choke to death on it😉
Living in the US is being a rat on a treadmill who works nonstop to acquire more and more material possessions and then showing it off as a sign of self worth. What is valued is what can be seen/measured such as a new car or a new impressive job title. Connecting with others involved slowing down to prioritize others, listening to others and compromising. It involves unmeasurable things like a feeling of contentment , wellbeing or the means being more important than the end product. Those unmeasurable things don't fit into the current model success which is getting more and more tangible , material stuff even though we feel hollow inside.

I made my local coffee shop and bar my third place and now I have a group of friends that meet to eat drink and play sports. Just finding and being a presence in my community was important, it was made especially easy since everyone here walks and are constantly exposed to new people/interactions.
What did people think was gonna happen?!?!!!

Solution: Open up and greet people. That's how I defeated loneliness. 😊
Even if you are alone, you can still be healthy by exercising, eating right, and being mildly social with your colleagues, neighbors, people you meet at the gym or yoga studio, and by volunteering.
Get a pet, but don't befriend the wrong people out of desperation. If you enjoy reading and reflecting, then solitude maybe a better option overall.
Now take a survey of lonely people and separate the numbers based on male and female.

I am really feeling this, and it all started with the social media boom.
I watched it as an outsider, having never been on Facebook MySpace Twitter or the alike.
It is sad to watch everyone be so reserved because they think putting themselves out there happens online now.
I miss when people could act goofy and be comfortable in their own skin, now everyone thinks I am the crazy one for never letting go of the way we were in the 90's.

I was by myself right out of high school for a solid decade. Right when i was hitting my limit things like tinder were becoming available. Been over 6 years together with the first girl i had a date with. There is definitely hope for the hopeless. Just gotta look for it. There are many helpful tools these days. Use them.

Are we just going to stand by and give "thoughts and prayers" or are we actually going to do something to stop this? This kind of thing doesn't happen in other developed countries as frequently as in the US.
