No one should have to die the same narrow-minded we arrived in this life (& seemed pleased to get through just like that). Not caring for other than ourselves could make everybody's eyebrows raise in stupefaction instead of a "shrug off". We can all & each be examples for others, because we "are" already examples. It would also induce t o n s more perseverance with ourselves (patience too…) from caring about being examples to others.

I really don't think either side will ever be able to communicate in good faith, Republicans have gone off the deep end to destroy democracy because they can't win the popular vote. Republicans are now willing to burn the country down and manipulate voting and devise laws to restrict rights. The solution will be violence which they assume they will win, it will take years to solve but fascists will not survive, they lost in WWII and will again today, tomorrow and forever.
It really does look to me like we're heading toward a discharge petition to get a clean bill and prevent default.

There won’t be blow back for Dems. Anyone with half a brain knows that the debt is mostly from Florida Man’s admin.
Interest rate is currently at 4.75%(8th rate hike since March last year) Inflation at 7% and mortgage rates is at over 7.5% but yet minimum wage remains the same and my retirement portfolio has suffered tremendously these past years, so my question is how do senior citizens retire and live off such unstable economy. The long term game is obviously not for me at this point.
The debt is from the former administration and now they want to balance it on backs of the current administration

The 14th amendment, section 4, states the lawful debt of the US shall not be questioned. Furthermore, the Supreme Court Perry decision states congress borrows money under its constitutional authority using a pledge of the full faith and credit of the United States, to say, "congress may withdraw or ignore that pledge is to assume the constitution contemplates a vain promise," and "The right to make binding obligations is a power of sovereignty."
Most of our debt is owned by the United States in the form of private and public pension funds, social security and Medicare, state and local governments, our financial system including the Federal Reserve, and to support our dollar as the premier global reserve currency. Our national debt is a measure of our net financial wealthy and economic power rather than a ticking time bomb. Each time it ticks up, someone is getting wealthier.
So, who are we going to default on? Ourselves by sunsetting Social Security and Medicare? Or China, to whom we owe approximately $1 trillion, and crashing our reserve currency? McCarthy is trying to single handedly roll back democratic legislation passed by a majority vote in congress and signed into law by the president because they did not have the votes to defeat it.
