Dating apps have become one of the most popular forms of meeting romantic partners, but now users are using a functionality within the software to block and get other users kicked off of the platform entirely. NBC’s Rehema Ellis reports.

🔎 Now, YOU KNOW…. That ain’t the same woman?! 🧐 She was Banned for… nvm…
There's several things I have to say about all this, as I've got quite strong opinions on it…
1-That it is true, that dating apps and so on for better or worse are becoming the norm on how heterosexual couples meet, I mean the advantage of being online is that you can get to know someone's personality first before meeting in person. Unfortunately women need to be street wise, as bad things still do happen. I know I wouldn't trust a stranger on the street, so dating apps do seem safer, obviously there's lots of nice good men out there, but harder to tell when initially meeting someone. So I do support them doing more with online safety etc.
2-The second point I'd like to make is that this revenge-blocking thing does seem to effect women a lot more than men I've noticed, but that's just what I hear but I do hear a lot more girls complaining about getting banned from dating apps then the other way around.
3-The third point, with great respect to the lady in question…that people do have a valid point, that in your dating pics you look like you're in your 20s, not your late 30s. Full disclosure; you're not actually that bad looking for your age at all. And I know you've linked the excuse a hundred times in comments already, that you had to do the interview quickly, but I think guys want to see you as you are…not with makeup and filtered all the time.
That said, I do think the guys that blocked and reported you simply because you rejected them, well they were dickheads that said unfortunately in life we can't reject people without causing hurt feelings, and some people will try and bite back. Best to learn how to let down people easy, a simple "I'm sorry I want to take things slow" or even "I'm really sorry but I don't think you're my type but good luck in your search!" will probably go a lot better than a simple "no".
Dear World don't date or meet anyone off the internet or any dating websites trust me just love yourself and focus on yourself and thank me later
I started that on Facebook
in real life, attractive people with similar interests approach me, make it clear they like me, and exchange contact info with me, no problem.. but on pretty much every app I'm constantly rejected or blocked based on one wrong picture by shallow judgemental people who only want one thing anyway.. I catch people who block me staring at me later IRL like they're in love.. and yes, I see you.. but you burnt that bridge. online dating is a waste of time.
Imagine how bitter you have to be to file a complete about this 💀
The female in this video is totally a catfish and if i met her after the filtered pics she posted i wouldnt be happy either. 80% of females do this of not more though so don't all jump down her throat for it.
Ive also been banned from tinder over night for no reason after matching the most gorgeous female ive matched with on tinder…. Later found out she was just an OF type but still. I sent them an email and asked why they banned me and they said they couldn't five me a reason and eventually told me they would.no longer be reaponsing yo emails when o tried to ask for clear reasons why i was banned.
They should have to tell you why so then you could either accept it or explain why it was bs
I'm stilp banned on tinder for no reason. Just woke up one morning and got banned. I had like 5 matches and two convos going 😂😂
I know u got reported by some salty hateful people and tinder employees don't care. They will ban you if they don't lioe your profile. So many bring politics and judging people by their personality being to left or right for them.
People need to grow the f up
My work emails would never let me be on a dating app. Even social media is getting annoying. Quit Twitter, deleted Facebook, and started the process of taking my pics off IG and saving them on my computer. It's like taking my high school experience everywhere in my pocket.
Men suffer from dating apps. Women don't.
Plenty of fish for the Catfish.
It could be a blessing in disguise.
This should be called "revenge banning" because I block people every day.
My husband is always creating fake profiles and cheating. I got sick of being lonely so I tried to do the same. He always used fake pics so I found a girl that kind of looked like me. I got banned within hours yet his accounts are still up. Super annoying. I would put my real pic but then, the narc is gonna cry and tell everyone I’m cheating on him when he is all over cat fishing females of all ages and no one will even pursue to punish him. He just gets away with everything. I wish I could leave. Am stuck.
It's a match! 2004 AOL sound
I am not sure they are carefully reviewed that's B.S. These m"fers use BOTS to do the heavy lifting 😢
Wow!!! This was meant for me to see.
I was out of nowhere myself banned from Tinder a few years ago, and it still stands in effect.
I tried reaching out to Tinder for an explanation as I have no clue the reasons why.
They flat out refused to tell me why, and said there was no appeal or actions I could do to reverse it. It was so odd as I have no idea why I was banned.
But I look at it as a blessing in disguise.
I tried a dating app once
..hated the fake connections and it caused me to be insecure. Never again.
like/so x 100
She doesn't look anything like her profile pictures and her voice inflections are annoying.
Perfect example of deceiving online profile, who will believe this is the same Girl 🙄
She doesn't look anything like her online pic. NOT AT ALL!
It’s so inorganic and forced to meet a partner online that I just stopped all together. Luckily, I’m not a codependent person and am happy by myself to not care to date. More sanity and peace that way.
These dating apps don't even work.
Plus long-distance relationships are Not my thing. I'm not going to travel to another state just to meet some stranger that doesn't even work out! Or sometimes people are using these as scams to scam other people. Or can put you in a dangerous situation you meet up with that person and it's not actually that person but a group that's trying to rob you?
😆Really? Here Photos vs. reality. She should be banned for cat fishing. Women already ignoring 99% of Male on these apps. Now on top they want to get away with even more Karen nonsense while pulling the victim card. And the reporter did not even research, they simply believed her. All men should run away.
Wth?! So women are being banned for trying to stay safe?!
Dating has become so toxic these days. Especially online. Since around 2015.
OMG..Not everything should affect mental health..if being blocked in a dating app makes you mentally unstable..you have no business on the internet period let alone shopping for stranger dates..Ladies and gentlemen please be careful😢
I won’t date online specifically for this reason:
The user terms and agreement protects the site, the serial stalker, the Sybil, the deepfake, the vengeful ex, and finally, anyone who wants to steal your identity-which happened to me.
If I have not met you physically in person, I don’t know you. I tried bumble, did not realize the woman is supposed to approach the guy which is really sexist, and left it in 2020 after one week. I paid 169$ to use a site that sent me deepfakes and not real people.
So, there is zero point in dating anyone online until social networks are regulated for abusing and violating their own social media contracts.
It demeans a persons self esteem. So do be careful. Your best bet is meeting someone the old fashioned way:
In the real world.
I just deleted my accounts on all dating apps today. They're all full of fakes, catfish and just not worth getting on them. I'm gonna just trying to meet people in real life vs the dating apps
I was blocked too but i didnt care that much.. why do u have to beg to come back? girl get urself back. Be thankfull instead u dont need it
Old daya 2019!
