The alligator was warming himself on the log. He hissed to warn you away. The next alligator, and there are lots of them you won’t see, may be warmed up and hungry. Don’t tube in Florida streams.
So the multiple eye witnesses recounting horror stories, and showing unequivocally how Florida is the U.S. based Australia, were not enough for these folks?!

If there is an outside pool in Florida it would be safer to check for alligators, than to assume they won't wander in. Waterways in Florida, ponds, swamps, its all their homes, not yours.
