Thanks to the Donna Summer's husband and family. We need the original "Live And More" 1978 récord on DVD, with "A Song For You" and "Coul It Be Magic" songs not included on the vinyl double record.
Shes the moment
❤
Four seasons of love, Once upon a time, just superb . What a lady ❤
Love Donna Summer. I saw her a few times. Still have her records. But, this was the worst documentary, I have ever seen! Poorly produced, at times audio is of very poor quality. Does not flow. I was looking so forward cto seeing this. What a disappointment!
Church and the world are two different places. You have to make a choice.
Fun fact:
Donna Summers loved Diana Ross. She considered herself as a “Diana Ross junkie”.
awesome
Funny how her Daughter spoke on her being from a Semi Conservative Town, being from what I called a Semi Hippie Conservative family and being a 60s kid. My mom broke me into her music with "I feel love" in about 76 or 77. I remember singing that with my mom over and over. She was, is and forever will be iconic.
Incredible how time flies, but Legends live forever..
RIP Donna,
Donna Summer was a icon! Loved all her music and still do. She was taken away to soon.
Definitely time for Donna to get her Flowers…more than overdue !!!
I watched some of the documentary and thought it was awful. The woman deserved much better.
Monique said it best. The Black church turns families against their beautiful Black LGBTQ children.
Oh i miss Donna Summer so much !! i wish she was still here with us making new music !
Gorgeous just like her mom.
Also, LAST DANCE is part of the soundtrack of my life. Not bc of what the song says but bc of the person it reminds of. Someone I fell madly in love with and that I should've never gotten involved with since she was only visiting my hometown during her summer vacation from her school in NYC. Teenage yrs tragedy.😅
Btw, MacArthur Park, (the long version, about 18 minutes long), is my go to song when I'm working out.
In terms of her Adam and Eve comment she was probably trying to appease (I wouldn't know for sure if that's the correct word) those who were saying that she was really a man dressed up as a woman, especially being that she got so much support from the gay community. Don't forget there was a lot of very vicious and hateful homophobia being displayed at the time
Brooklyn did a great great job, I hope she plans to continue working and producing this high quality projects.
I have watched Documentary twice already today, I got surprised for things I didn"t know as a 30+ years fan, then I laughed and at the end I was crying, I couldn't Imagine her pain, her struggles with her faith, her freedom and her sex life as a woman in an era of female repression. and the worse to deal with her terminal cancer. Now I admirer more as a human being. 😍🥰❤❤❤
Donna was a very, very talented lady, BUT right now I can't take my eyes off the gentleman's HAIR!!👀👀👀👀Wow!! Incredible!
There's a lot of us that still play Donna Summer 24/7 at our house real pictures and posters of her all over our house.. on May 17th 2012 when we lost Donald summer I was inconsolable my friends all came over to try and snap me out of it cuz really I fell to the ground when I heard the news and I was thinking how she was more relevant to me then people in my own family and she really cast a spell over a lot of us in 1977 when we saw this black Cleopatra woman behind this new crazy song called I feel Love we had never heard a song like that ever I mean ever saw a woman with such control and in her zone while singing that it was very fresh than and blew us away and it is still played in our car wherever we go I live in Dana Point a surfer town and I have a convertible in the people on the street the surfers and whatnot are always dancing when I drive by I mean I need that song like heroin,. I remember seeing the bad girls tour at la universal amphitheater and the next night she was there again I didn't have tickets I paid the parking I parked the car and I went up this little kill inside the parking lot just to listen to the concert it really was magic the talent and charisma that that woman had cannot be overstated we just love Donna Summer plain and simple and that love is ongoing God bless her soul
Donna Summer sums up my childhood. She passed away too young.
Disco lyrics and a beat, combined with her vocal delivery that fit like a glove….And as a bonus, the recording quality on the vinyl was exceptional…We had a lot of her music in our stereo component room at work…way back in the day..
Oops.. now the daughter is figuring out a more righteous presentation of her hate, claiming she didn't want them to be punished with AIDS, Summer just wanted gay people to be denied their civil rights, certainly when it came to marriage. Was she okay with the idea of Jewish people marrying? What other groups did she feel should be denied their constitutional right to equal protection under the law? Though isn't that precisely what her African American community was fighting for as well? How about treating us right, lady?
The daughter says Donna Summer didn't want to be put in a box, but seemed quite content to put her gay fans into a box and ship them off to hell when she was done with them. Put me down in the "thanks but no thanks" column.
First of all……the family now selling off Donna's items is soooo awful these things need to go into a Donna summer museum for ppl to come and see!!!!!! And Donna's kids really didn't know the scope of Donna's career until a few years ago. This is all a cash grab!!!!!! And don't even get me started on the gravestone that doesn't even have Donna's "summer" name on it….instead it has her married name "sudano" on it!!!!!!! Geezus whaaaat a travesty!!!!!!
She would have loved YouTube and blogging or doing skits❤ She was so creative. A true Artist!
Love that we finally get a peek into this Icon!!! It's about time❤ Whenever im feeling tired, worn out, or just blah … I put on Donna Summer and get happy! I love this women and her incredible voice❤ What an amazing life she lived!!! Thank you so much for making this documentary 🙏 ❤
