People are lazy
I mean, maybe the plastic was diverted because you contaminated it with an air tag… but it's an excellent test of the system, nonetheless.

Bottom line is recycling of plastics is largely a scam, hell the act of recycling is nothing more than "recyclers" finding others willing to buy their "recyclables" who then reprocess them and sell them back to the industry as a whole, and unfortunately there's no money in recycling plastic it's just easier and cheaper to make new plastic and that means the recycling of plastic largely becomes the disposing of plastic, but the industry wants you to believe they are doing something! I mean they went so far as to put a plastic labeling system on plastics that very often confuses people to believe that it's the "recycling symbol" (but it's not)

Glad I live in Maine, single use plastic shopping bags are banned. I don't miss the mess of bags.

NJ banned single use plastic bags. We can use paper bags or reusable bags only. People complained but I like it.

I work in plastics. The idea that it's recyclable os a fucking scam.
Recycled plastics chemical break down each time it's reformed and gets more fragile.
Additionally – DON"T use your plastic grocery bags as lunch bags. Word to the wise: bugs like to live in them….. I work at a grocery store and this happens to brand new out of the cardboard box they come, so do buggies. Once I saw cockroaches trying to climb out of a brand new bag I was sick.
Don't care. Profits matter. This is not news. What else do you have to cure my boredom?

I recycle but I admit I reuse plastic bags as garbag bags for little trash cans around the house. I know those end up in the landfill.

Companies only do things that benefit them financially. It is not profitable to recycle plastic so most places are not even pretending to do it anymore. My city stopped recycling last year. It's still all going to the same place in the long run

6 months of investigation into the recycling of Target and Walmart?? 6 months? Imagine if 6 months was spent honestly investigating the corruption of the FBI, going to the border to see what’s happening in real life, the current sex trafficking and slavery of women and children, biological women being systematically erased from society and replaced by biological men, our countries economic crisis or reporting the truth about Hunter Biden and the Biden family, just to name a few extremely important matters effecting our country. But thank goodness we’ve all been made aware of the devastating recycling problem at Target and Walmart! I’ll definitely sleep better tonight. If this is ANYONE in America’s #1 concern, you’ve got bigger problems than recycling.
