My first lesson in politics was about political Dirty Tricks… at least that's how I see it. I received a very small award in HIgh School that urged me to study Economics and Economic History in College. I got a lot of advice from all sorts of teachers and I was very proud of everyone for the most part. One English teacher complimented my writing ability and performance in English Class but discouraged me from becoming an English Major in College. But what really surprises me is that I was ganged up on by a couple of teachers in High School who told me basically that Economics was bunk and urged me to stay away from Economics altogether since "the Economics teacher in High School (in their opinion – at least the opinion they were giving me ) was worthless." These two teachers were friends and active in local politics but what gets to me is the 2008 financial crisis in America and the bailout of the Financial Sector of the Economy. I'm sure a lot of those people studied Economics as did the Government people who decided a bailout
was essential. A lot of small, unimportant people are the object of political dirty tricks and probably even have their lives ruined over politics. I guess the words "never give up" apply in every field and to everyone in every country.
