Passengers say most of the journey on the Carnival Sunshine was a breeze, but then the ship crossed paths with a major developing storm on its way back to South Carolina. NBC News’ Steve Patterson shares one traveler’s experience and the company’s response.

Sounds like pampered morons on that cruise. It almost sounds like they think Carnival should be able to control the weather. "Holy moly! We were at sea and ran into bad weather. Carnival should have done something about that weather."
What do yall think the ocean is a tamed beast? Yall paid to go on a cruise not thinking it was on water and water stays calm! I'm so mad it rained today maybe I should sue my town or state right!
I find it funny that people are mad at weather. If you go out into the ocean there is ALWAYS a change of storms and huge swells. Yes they could have came over the loud speaker and told the whiners it will be ok. You will be back to your privileged life soon. Sorry a storm made you uncomfortable 🤣
News flash. They absolutely sailed directly into the eye. Because that is what you do when you are on open ocean and there is a hurricane in the area. Nobody cares if your feelings are hurt because they dont have time to worry about your feelings.
People get on a boat that goes into middle of ocean… Then act amazed when you get weather consistent with a ship being in the middle of the ocean…
About 5 years ago I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise in the remnants of a hurricane, and the ship was so old it didn't have stabilizers. The ship was bobbing up and down for 2 days. The crew was stuffing barf bags in the railings of the stairs, people were throwing up everywhere, it was awful.
So the captain was suppose to send her updates when he was concentrating on saving everyone's life and bring them home safely through this bad storm lady really 🤦🏾♀️

Wonder how many of these people ate fish dishes whilst onboard. Fishing boats deal with worse and they are far smaller vesels.
Stop your winging. The captain and crew can't control the weather and they got you home safely.

Money is money, and the next cruise group was waiting. That is how Carnival views it, I guarantee it. Just look at their statement talking about the next group is on it's way lol. They have already forgot about this cruise. I see all these people in the comments praising the captain, but without a doubt he put the ship in danger. A power outage or engine outage while sailing through the storm FOR 12 HOURS could have very quickly changed everything. We aren't talking about a quick 1 hour squall here. 12 HOURS is a lot of time for something to go wrong.
