Maybe Congress could do their job and make a budget, then actually pass a real budget EVERY single year, this IS the only real way to decrease the national debt. There has not been a budget made or passed thru Congress since 2009 and before that it was in the late 1990s, if Congress is so concerned about the debt they should Do Their Job and make, ratify, and pass a budget EVERY single year instead of spending their time arguing like Little Children non-stop. Maybe voters could send Responsible, Qualified Adults to office instead of RICH PAMPERED SPOILED BRATS. Then we would have an actual Functional Government again and there would not be this debt ceiling "drama" every year

Baloney. Two months ago they could have raised the debt ceiling. Guess what that means. The United States of America pays its bills with the tax payer money. Admittedly the budget have big areas of conflict , but none of that has to be determine this week. The bills on the other hand have to paid if we don't want to tank the stock market. Who wants that.0 Who wants anoher great depression. Who wants inteest rates to skyrocket, causing our deficit the first day we default on our debts. 0 in this country. So just pay the bills. That is the least complex the Senate and the Congress have to do. The budget, however is the most difficult. That does not have to be done by June 5th. So for the Senators and the Congress members who take pride in hating the opposite party and never cooperaating on anythhing , this is just business as usual. Actually it is just worse than usual. They came together great after September 11th, but I doubt anything will bring this group together to solve problems. I hope I am wrong. The poor and the middle class have given up on cooperation between the Republicans and the Senate in the last twenty years. They refuse to cooperate for the good of the country. The infrastructure bill was a big surprise, and I have to say that gives me hope. So inspite of the number of representatives that have not kept their oath of office and the unusual number of unhinged members, I have still hope that they could learn to cooperate. I have not seen one sign of it this term, So many problems are so complex that they are hard to solve, but paying the bill is simple. It could have been done two months ago without any discussion. It was done, three times under our previous president. No discusiion , they just paid the bills. After all, that is thier job. Any corporation would fire them because they have played games up to now. If you don't want to pay America's bill, then resign.. You have no place in public office for this country.
