  1. I fill that high rise buildings need to be maintenance every 5yrs because of the wear and tear from tenants..

  2. Hoping all the tenants and their pets got out safely.

  3. Very foolish to allow the City of Davenport to demolish the entire building, and very suspect that they are pushing to do it so fast. That section of wall that collapsed was over the area where all of the external gutters drained. Almost certainly the mortar in the foundation was washed out in that area over the years – this could have been avoided with simple repointing, sealing, and water diversion. Also, the foundations under the remaining walls would not have been inundated with water, not being in this runoff area, meaning the foundation damage is likely contained to the area of failure and the immediate proximity. The majority of this building, representing hundreds of millions of dollars in value, could be repaired, reinforced beyond any doubt, and put back into service for less than the cost of ripping it down.

  4. i wonder how much the slum lord was getting not fixing anything

  5. ABC News owner and employees/reporters your due is coming! You all are horrible people and to think you are American citizens living in the USA. If you lived in my neighborhood I would announce you all every day on what BAD PEOPLE YOU ARE, BAD PARENTS AND BAD AMERICANS. You all are worse than President Biden. We, Americans will soon find out who is paying CNN and the employees to go along with President Biden. I/We know that you are being paid to not disclose, put on the news anything negative about Biden and the WH mean, ugly and old Democrats.

  9. American archaic infrastructure. Maybe America should blame the Chinese for being the world's leaders in infrastructure and fast speed rail. Maybe America should blame the Japanese for having bullet trains way back in 1964 when The Beatles released their first record album. America, 59 years behind the rest of the world. Last year there was radioactive water leaks in Minnesota and now Philadelphia and Louisiana. Where is Biden's infrastructure funding? Surely DeSantis hasn't used the infrastructure funds to send migrants from another state to another state like he did with the Covid funding.

  10. So the lady’s dog was found alive? The reporter said no one died. The lady was crying as she said her dog was “all she had”. Why not finish that story?

  11. Can we PLEASE get an update about that poor lady’s dog? 😢

  13. News don’t ever call me call me everything you

  14. "Nothing short of a miracle!!!" SO glad that everyone made it out alive 🙌🙌🙌🙌

  15. Bldg generates about 100,000 a month . Should have repaired earlier

  16. No deaths reported? Nonsense

  17. did they find that woman's dog?

  18. That's scary! It could happen to any apartment that's unsafe. I hope there's no fatalities in humans or animals.

  19. How old was that building?

  20. No way there will not be fatalities after this collapse. So tragic.

  21. Made in America these days are worse than made in China. Hey lets roll back more regulations and save those rich corporations more money. Hell give them another tax break.

  22. Nice to see disasters in US ..

  23. I live less than a mile away from this why did I not hear about this….like literally no one is talking about this in davenport lmfao

  24. This is awful. Deff some structural neglect in the construction of this complex. Modern buildings shouldn't collapse like this. Especially in Iowa which isn't earthquake prone

  25. It's weird my friend lives there and he said there was a couple of strange Russian people hanging around there for a couple of days.

  26. Lucky for us we got plenty of migrant workers to do the work.
And more coming. Thank you so much my lil Mexican Migrant friends.
