  1. I think it is time to admit that tall buildings are simply beyond the ability of people in Republican-run states to maintain.

  2. "We need to take down that building, it is unlivable and may collapse at any time"
"But we can also still collect rent by letting the poor live there"

  3. 32 days = how long the search was for bodies in Surfside, FL before demolition.
2 days = how long the search went in Iowa before the city wanted to demolish.

What a disgrace for the entire state of Iowa! But I guess that's the difference between the poor communities and the rich. Prayers from Florida! Surfside stands with you all!

  4. I thought they wanted to tear it down today (to hide the evidence).

  5. Sad all the way around. I hope the missing tenants are found and that the survivors sue the landlord and drain him dry.

  6. The next heavy rain storm will bring it down.

  7. It is completely unethical to rush into demolition when there are tenants unaccounted for.

  8. Such a lackadaisical search…how embarrassing for not making sure all was accounted for.

  9. That fake crying needs to stop They said everyone was accounted for and let demolition begin, days ago ! Then that lady comes to the window !! They don’t care , it’s a Republican State, the Governor hasn’t said , anything!!

  10. Wonder why the city is in such a hurry 🤔 like if they’re trying to cover something up

  11. if the building is that shaky WHY were people living in it? this is pathetic, the actions of gov people and the building owner.

  12. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

  13. It was safe to live in, but unsafe to recover. Many lawsuits coming.

  14. The Mayor there has got to go. He wanted to bury people alive

  15. They are trying to bury mishaps and corruption

  16. Can someone answer this question….so the 52 year old lady who came to the window today and was rescued, where would she have been all that time since the collapse? Why didn't she come to the window sooner and make her presence known?

  17. Something isn't right. The area surrounding the building has been fully cleared from anyone being in direct path of any further collapse, so I'm just wondering why they're in such a rush to destroy the building? I mean, in Surfside they took almost two months to demolish the building and it was in way worse shape! I wonder what they are trying to hide. They could at least allow the famiies to have a memorial for their missing loved ones at the site before they demolish it.

  18. good job davenport. the community will fight for you

  19. Everyone standing out in the street protesting, should suit up and join the search!

  20. Bring in NIST. Charge everyone accountable. Zero tolerance for this

  21. Can they use robotics and drones to find missing people and pets? Insert them through the windows.

  22. Thank goodness those protesters spoke up!

  23. Who has ever heard of calling off a rescue so soon. How hasty! A crime.

  24. The authorities ought to make the building owners go in and search for the missing people.

  25. In other words, the USA is a corrupt bannana republic.

  26. American archaic infrastructure. Maybe America should blame the Chinese for being the world's leaders in infrastructure and fast speed rail. Maybe America should blame the Japanese for having bullet trains way back in 1964 when The Beatles released their first record album. America, 59 years behind the rest of the world. Last year there was radioactive water leaks in Minnesota and now Philadelphia and Louisiana. Where is Biden's infrastructure funding? Surely DeSantis hasn't used the infrastructure funds to send migrants from another state to another state like he did with the Covid funding.

  27. They just want to demolish the evidence.

  28. That governor is a joke.

  29. I don't believe the fron portion is in any danger. The back had some shoddy repairs in the past and was apparently weakened by that. You can see where a large section of wall to the right has been previously replaced. With all the history of poor upkeep from residents How did this building keep passing inspection? That they are in a big hurry to demolish looks suspicious.

  30. Dont they have robots that can look around in there? Wait…I know that technology exists.

  31. First it was 2 then 3. Now it's 5 and they were literally gonna tear it down without doing due diligence to recover anyone missing. What a disgrace city officials are. They could at least deploy a cadaver dog to find those who are missing. The building collapse in Florida was much larger and those first responders got in there and dug 24 hours round clock to recover residents.

  32. They need to get a drone in there.
