Nobody's in there!! Famous last words..yes! Get someone from OUT OF STATE..that Gentleman said it! Too many cheifs, no Indians. When everyone is promoted to mini chief, that's when the actual work STOPS and the WALKING AROUND begins..as I always say..UNBELIEVABLE!!
But McCarthy says we need faster construction and less government intervention. Also your children might be the ones constructing the new building. And THEY will be trapped when it collapses. And WE will all be living in tents until the next encampment sweep.
So – the entire bldg is now homeless bc of improper maintenance and the bldg owner MIGHT be fined $300?! WHAT!?
Why don't we have a teams of dedicated highly trained and experienced national search and rescue crews that can be called in for situations like this? The top ones through out the country from any state to any other state that would get called in when there is a building collapse like this. I mean we are always quick to send people to foreign countries to help out but not other states?
Haven't y'all heard? The City says it's that relatively small pile of rubble created by 13% of the building collapsing straight downward that's holding up the entire remaining 87%. The City officials say we can trust it's the truth because they're the ones who said it. In fact, I've heard tale told that, if the rubble pile is disturbed by anything other than wholesale, wrecking ball demolition of the entire building, all of the city of Davenport might suddenly collapse. Best to play it safe and don't ask too many questions.
Where do they think the other 3 people could be? It's been days, if they're safe somewhere else, wouldn't we know by now?

Wow! If they would have gone ahead and did that demolition on Tuesday morning. One woman and several pets for sure would have been killed! They need to wait some more and check more thoroughly.

The only reason to demolish the building so ridiculously quickly is a cover-up. There are still people, pets and personal belongings in that building.

It’s funny because this country constantly has buildings collapsing but want to charge 3x rent and a mortgage payment to rent these raggedy apartments 🙄😒
I AM HERE AT THE BUILDING, THERE ARE 5 STILL MISSING NO ONE has been searching for them. No equipment, no drones, no team. I was on the street on Monday, 12 hours after, and the mayor had already announced that there were no casualties, and the search was finished, That night a woman was found, and the national news got wind of it. So they then sent a dog over the pile, but that’s about all I’ve seen. Family members are here demanding the demolition be postponed until someone searches for their family members. At least two, are know to be inside or beneath the rubble.
Prayers they find them soon. I live in the quad cities. God watch over those missing.
When the Florida complex collapsed they searched for days. Hmm I wonder why?
The base of the building on that section was a storage area. No windows and previously had a dock for cargo trucks. Someone messed up with the columns there. Probably removing them, if they repurposed the sapce given they took away the Cargo truck door.
That slumlord took advantage of innocent tenants and risked their lives isn’t that a crime?

I wouldn't trust the local officials too. They were so quick to demolish the building. It just shows their incompetence.

Sounds like a whitewash to me. A building does not become structurally unsound merely because of poor maintenance. We can know what happened only through a forensic engineering analysis. That will be difficult if it is just demolished. It probably should have been demolished decades ago rather than turning it into apartments.
Horrifying. This is a repeat of a building collapse in Florida. Keep dumping those restrictions and regulations, GOP. The 'not so wide awake' still don't get it. 😔

Only in America would they leave people in a collapsed building. In other countrys the United States would tip the world over in a search. This country HATES helping out its own citizens.
