In the end it's America that loses because the number of Chinese who understand America far outnumbers the number of Americans who truly understand China.
I had a friend teaching English in the prc for a few years.
Once covid happened, she was pretty much ostracized and ended up coming back.
With that said, i am glad she is back. It sucks about the treatment she received. However i had a hanky feeling something was up. Naturally I assumed her comms were compromised & monitored since she was in the prc and using their State Run Apps.

Academic plagiarism is common in China from what I read. It's not a zero tolerance policy like it is in America. A lot of fake scientific papers are from china.

It's a problem. Try again next year. Time for corporate and academic sectors to make hard but clear choices. Corporate America is denied little so deciding that American security and economic policy trumps corporate greed is a clear choice. Pick alternate regions.
